Dispensary

We are a dispensing practice, and if you live more than a mile by road from a community pharmacist we can dispense your medicines as well as prescribe them.

Telephone Line

Our dispensers are only able to take prescription enquiries between 10 and 12pm and 2 and 4pm each day so allow sufficient time for dispensary operations to be conducted. Repeat prescription requests will not be taken by telephone so please use the form to the left of this page

28-Day Prescription

GPs write a prescription for 28-days. BMA guidance is that, “Doctors should provide prescriptions for intervals that they feel are clinically appropriate”. This is a common policy across general practice to improve medicines safety and because there is a significant problem of wastage across the NHS, patients not completing their prescribed course of medicines, and because many medicines have a short shelf life. There is a prescription charge for some patients, but this goes directly to the NHS to fund the every-growing cost of medicines. Exceptions can be made when patients are travelling for extended periods.
