Covid Vaccination Programme – now vaccinating children
Writing this on 13 August 2021, we have now provided a 1st dose to 90% of our eligible patients and a 2nd dose to 80% of patients. We are vaccinating children (all 16- and 17-year olds and some 12 to 15 year olds). Please look out for the invite text.
Autumn Boosters. Plans are underway for a staged operation to provide over-fifties and our more vulnerable patients a booster vaccination between September and December. We are planning how vaccinations can combined with the annual influenza vaccination. We will keep you updated of developments.
Rackheath Medical Centre
Tony Emes, PPG Representative, Rackheath, 07712 007010, email@example.com
For many years plans have come and gone for a medical centre in Rackheath. There is currently some encouraging progress towards Rackheath having its own Primary Care Centre. As patients our views are important so please let me know yours by email, phone, SMS or local social media response by end of August, if at all possible.
This new Medical Centre is intended to provide the necessary infrastructure to deliver integrated health and social care, within the community, increase capacity for a growing population and support the necessary activity shift into the community setting.
The proposal is for a new building, managed by a single practice (Hoveton & Wroxham Medical Practice) in the initial definition phase with a number of site locations under consideration in Rackheath. The latest experience of other NHS established medical centres is being used during the definition of operation, layout and working practices
Under a Steering Group of stakeholders and interested parties, a Business Case is being developed for submission to NHS England to obtain capital funding with “Outline” Submission by Dec 2021 and “Full” Submission by April 2022. The target is for the Centre to be operational in 2024.
As your PPG Representative, I will feed through any views or comments you may have to ensure that at this preliminary stage they are fully considered and hopefully incorporated.
Training Day, Wednesday 22 September [reduced capacity]
GPs, nurses and support staff need to find time to maintain currency in the many skills needed to provide our high-quality service. Also, after 18-month working in isolated bubbles we are finding ways to increase the teamwork across the organisation. Consequently, we have organised a Staff Away Day on Wednesday 22 September and we will therefore be operating at greatly reduced capacity.
- Only urgent health problems should be ’phoned through to Reception.
- Routine health problems should be sent to us via our website.
- Prescriptions may still be collected from our dispensary.
